India continued its impressive run at the Paris Paralympics 2024, with multiple athletes delivering standout performances across various disciplines on Day 7 (September 4, Wednesday). Here’s a comprehensive look at the results:
1. Para Archery – Men’s Recurve Open
India’s Harvinder Singh clinched gold in spectacular fashion, defeating Lukasz Ciszek of Poland in the final with a flawless 6-0 victory. Harvinder’s journey to gold included wins against Aarb Ameri Mohammad Reza in the semi-finals, Hector Julio Ramirez in the quarters, and Tseng Lung-hui earlier in the day.
2. Para Athletics – Men’s Shot Put F46 Final
Sachin Sarjerao Khilari secured the silver medal with a remarkable throw of 16.32m, an Asian Record (AR). Teammates Mohd Yasser and Rohit Kumar finished 8th and 9th respectively, with best efforts of 14.21m and 14.10m.
3. Para Athletics – Men’s Club Throw F51 Final
India celebrated another gold medal as Dharambir set a new AR with a throw of 34.92m. Pranav Soorma added to the tally by winning silver, with a personal best of 34.59m. Unfortunately, Amit Kumar finished 10th with a best throw of 23.96m.
