India Completely Dominated in Chennai Test vs Bangladesh on Day 2. India started with Overnight score of 339/6 with Ashwin and Jadeja started the innings. Taskin Ahmed made impact with new ball and Bangladesh bowled out India for 376, withut adding much to it. Jadeja Missed the century and departed early, Akash Deep fired few boundaries before Indian innings get closed.
Session 1: India All Out for 376, Bangladesh Begin Batting
India started Day 2 at 339/6, but Bangladesh quickly wrapped up the Indian innings. Ravindra Jadeja was the first to fall, bowled by Taskin Ahmed for 86. Ravichandran Ashwin added just 11 more runs to his overnight score of 102, departing for 113. India was all out for 376 in 91.2 overs, with Hasan Mahmud claiming a brilliant 5-wicket haul (5/83).
Session 2: Bangladesh Struggle Under Indian Bowling
In response, Bangladesh’s batting line-up faltered. Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep made early breakthroughs, leaving Bangladesh at 44/4 by the end of the first hour. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim tried to offer some resistance, but regular wickets continued to fall. Bangladesh was bowled out for just 149, conceding a 227-run lead. Session 3: India Begin 2nd Innings
Instead of enforcing the follow-on, India chose to bat again. By the end of Day 2, India had already increased their lead, reaching 84/1 in their second innings. Shubman Gill was the lone wicket to fall, but Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal were unbeaten at the crease, solidifying India’s dominant position. With a substantial lead and 9 wickets in hand, India looked poised to set Bangladesh an imposing target and close this test ASAP.
